Abstract

The Ganges and the Indus cones represent two of the most important sediment inputs in the Bay of Bengal and Arabian sea respectively. The different aspects of these cones have been presented here giving mainly the Deep Sea Drilling Project Data and results of smear slide examinations and other sedimentalogical studies of samples from the DSDP sites on these cones and from the river mouths.
